Kathmandu,
June 6: Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Hanan Goder, paid a courtesy call on
Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Bhagawati Chaudhary.
During the
meeting held at the Ministry today, Minister Chaudhary lauded the longstanding
bilateral relations of friendship, harmony, understanding and cooperation
between Nepal and Israel.
On the
occasion, Minister Chaudhary urged Ambassador Goder to take initiative to
rescue a Nepali youth, Bipin Joshi, who is under the control of Hamas, said
Minister Chaudhary's Secretariat.
Appreciating
Israel's development in agriculture sector, she requested Israel for its
continued support for further progress of the agriculture sector.
The
Minister expressed the belief that Nepal-Israel relations continues through
mutual cooperation and collaboration, lauding Israel's support to Nepal on
different issues including scholarship, employment and agriculture.
She
thanked the Israeli government for providing employment opportunity to Nepali
youths (especially women) as caregivers.
Expressing
the belief that Bipin would be released soon, Ambassador Goder shared that he
is going to visit Bipin's family on Sunday.
He further
said that Israel has to learn from Nepal on the issues of equality, empowerment
and women's access to decision-making level. He also expressed commitment to
take initiative for bringing in further opportunities.
The
Israeli Ambassador lauded the contribution of Nepali workers in development of
Israel.
